    N1 (person) + は + N2 (body part) + が + イ-adjectiveい + です

    Key Point:

Used to describe a person’s physical characteristics by focusing on one specific part or feature.

N1 is the subject (often a person).

N2 is the specific body part or feature being described.

Adjective describes the state of N2. This pattern can also be used to form noun modifiers (e.g., describing a person by their features).

    Example

江口[えぐち]さんは、髪[かみ]が 短[みじ]かい 人[ひと]です。 Eguchi-san is the person with short hair.

    Formation:
    Verb (テ-form) + いる + 人[ひと]
    Key Point:

Used to describe or identify a person by their current state or ongoing action.

There are two main uses of V-ている:

① A state resulting from a completed action (e.g., wearing clothes or accessories).

② An action that is currently ongoing (e.g., reading a book, making copies).

When used to describe a person, the verb phrase is placed before 人[ひと] in plain form (V-ている), not polite form (V-ています).

    Example
    A:
    江口[えぐち]さんは どの 人[ひと]ですか? Which person is Eguchi-san?
